FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The Coalition for Canceled Priests is delighted to announce that Fr. James Altman has made a landmark donation of $100,000. Fr. Altman presented the check to Fr. John Lovell, co-founder of the lay-led non-profit organization, exactly one month after its launch event, “Breaking the Silence.” At the event, Fr. Altman had pledged to match dollar-for-dollar the first $100,000 in donations made to the new organization. In wake of delivering the check, Father Altman stated, “I am delighted to support CFCP in their mission to provide support and resources in restoring faithful priests back to ministry.” In response, Father John Lovell, said “The Coalition is grateful to Father Altman for his unwavering support of canceled and warehoused priests.”
This past July 14th, The Coalition was able to deliver a check totalling $20,000 to Fr. James Parker, who was canceled by Bishop Malloy of the Diocese of Rockford. In response to the donation, Fr. Parker made a statement on his Facebook page, “Please allow me to express my sincere appreciation for the fund-raising event that was sponsored by The Coalition for Canceled Priests on June 24, 2021 at the Carlisle in Lombard, Illinois. Your efforts and support will be of great assistance as I work on transitioning to a new phase in my personal and spiritual life. Let us all continue to pray for Catholic Priests everywhere and for our Holy Catholic Church. May God bless you abundantly through Mary!”
Donor assistance through prayer, fasting, spreading awareness, participation in CFCP vigils, and continued financial support is most appreciated. All supporters can stay up-to-date on new developments and opportunities to get involved at www.canceledpriests.org. May God continue to bless Fr. Altman and all those who are offering prayers and other sacrifices for the good of these holy priests!
