CFCP STATEMENT ON THE NEWS REGARDING FATHER FRANK PAVONE

Father Frank Pavone understands the cancel culture that has permeated The Church for decades

With a mission to save lives of innocent unborn human beings (in addition to his overall mission of saving souls) through his effective apostolate Priests for Life, Fr. Pavone has been the target of many leftist prelates, which includes his own bishop. He reiterates that his message is the most simple and basic of all- “Don’t kill babies.” The Coalition for Canceled Priests (CFCP) agrees.

It has been clear for years that Fr. Pavone had already been a canceled priest, but who nevertheless soldiered on in his priesthood to focus on ending abortion. He has been transparent about it for over a decade, primarily through his personal website and social media.

Fr. Pavone has also been witness to the canceling of other priests who simply do what they should: stand for and defend the most vulnerable among us.

He even came out with a plea to bishops in 2022 in defense of priests across the world who are persecuted by their bishops for being pro-life saying the following:

“I keep getting messages from strong prolife Catholic priests saying that their bishops have ‘canceled’ them in one way or another, saying they can’t exercise their ministry. Same pattern for years. Excuse me, Bishops, but what is going on here? Encourage us, don’t cancel us!”

From what The Coalition for Canceled Priests knows, this latest and very extreme level of cancelation is the culmination of a decade long attempt to silence Fr. Pavone. Pro-life leaders have recently faced the wrath of the US Federal Government as retribution for the reversal of Roe V Wade. They also don’t need the wrath of leftist prelates. Like what Fr. Pavone said, they need encouragement.

We’ve seen time after time faithful Catholic priests being silenced, handcuffed, persecuted, and outright canceled while priests who overtly oppose Church Teachings are rewarded and even promoted.

Bishop Strickland of the Diocese of Tyler points this out by saying:

“The blasphemy is that this holy priest is canceled while an evil president promotes the denial of truth & the murder of the unborn at every turn, Vatican officials promote immorality & denial of the deposit of faith & priests promote gender confusion devasting lives…evil.”

Fr. James Altman, a canceled priest, also points the hypocrisy out with his words:

“Once again, the papacy demonstrates its utter and complete hypocrisy. Boy rapers got a free pass for half a century while cover-up bishops paid out $8 Billion. [Pro-Abortion] Politicians remain in good standing despite half a century promoting the slaughter of innocents in the womb. Monsignor “Grindr” Burrill spends years whoring around with men but gets his parish back. [The examples go on and on] But they laicize the single best priest who fought against abortion. Bergoglio’s papacy is accursed.”

The CFCP team desires for this unjust action to help bring awareness to the link between the human sacrifice that is called abortion and the cancelation of priests. With shepherds by and large being silent on such a grave moral issue, it’s no coincidence that the majority of Catholics across the world have either turned a blind eye or applauded the human sacrifice that happens in their back yard day after day while supporting pro-abortion candidates. We firmly believe that until prelates of The Church unify to end it, the practice of killing babies will be commonplace; even in America where Roe V Wade was overturned.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) very own document, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, which serves as the U.S. Bishops teaching document on the political responsibility of American Catholics, states:

“The threat of abortion remains our preeminent priority because it directly attacks life itself, because it takes place within the sanctuary of the family, and because of the number of lives destroyed.”

Is it not a sad and tragic irony then that the Vatican hierarchy and leftist U.S. prelates would outright cancel the most preeminent defender of the unborn in our global Church today?

Again, the attack on the Priesthood from within The Church is not a new phenomenon. It’s a spiritual attack. Fr. John Lovell, our co-founder, puts this in perspective by saying “May this be an opportunity to pray and fast not only for Fr. Pavone but for an end to the human sacrifice that is called abortion.”

Father Lovell also reassures our supporters that The CFCP team “is ready to do what we can to support Fr. Pavone but to support all priests who face persecution from our religious leaders for standing for truth, beauty, and orthodoxy.”

Please consider joining the prayer campaign for Fr. Pavone and submitting a personal message to him (and the prelates who canceled him).

In Christ and For Life,

The CFCP Team

STATEMENT BY FATHER JOHN LOVELL

The news of the cancelation of Fr. Frank Pavone has already spread across the globe. It shows you the respect Catholics have for such a fearless priest.

Earlier in 2022 it was Fr. Pavone highlighting the cancel culture in The Church at the hands of bishops, who are persecuting priests for speaking out against the killing of unborn babies when he posted on social media:

“I keep getting messages from strong prolife Catholic priests saying that their bishops have “canceled“ them in one way or another, saying they can’t exercise their ministry. Same pattern for years. Excuse me, Bishops, but what is going on here? Encourage us, don’t cancel us!” – Fr. Frank Pavone

Now, it’s Fr. Pavone’s turn, tragically, to be the victim of the cancel culture in The Church. This latest, and very prominent, cancelation shows all of us that it is not about just the Traditional Latin Mass, but rather any and all aspects of Catholic Orthodoxy, which includes the moral aspects.

Our team is ready to do what we can, not only to support Fr. Pavone but to support all priests who face persecution from our religious leaders for standing for truth, beauty, and orthodoxy.

May this be an opportunity to pray and fast not only for Fr. Pavone, but for an end to the human sacrifice that is called abortion.

May God Bless you,

Fr. John Lovell, Co-Founder

STATEMENT BY SR. DEDE BYRNE

Dear prayer warriors,

What just happened? More Confusion, that’s what has happened. And the devil is the author of confusion. Our world is more turbulent than ever. The most vocal pro-life priest has been laicized. What crime has he done to warrant such a harsh punishment?

In the wake of this travesty, we still have the most pro-death, anti-nuclear family president in our nation’s history who professes to be a Catholic in good standing…with no real guidance from a majority of our bishops or the Vatican.

Confusion is further exemplified by Catholic Faithfuls (and our non-Christian brothers and sisters, the Uyghurs) persecuted in China by the CCP with again no support from our Catholic leadership. Cardinal Zen who is also the most vocal Cleric against the CCP-Vatican accord is found guilty of a charge relating to his role in a relief fund for Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests in 2019. There is no outcry from the Vatican.

Four cardinals: Walter Cardinal Brandmüller, Carlo Cardinal Caffarra, Joachim Cardinal Meisner, and Cardinal Burke co-author a document “Seeking Clarity: A Plea to Untie the Knots in ‘Amoris Laetitia’.” Vatican doors are locked for them.

A Jesuit priest is the greatest promoter of LGBT behavior, and the Vatican greets him with open arms.

Another Society of Jesus (Jesuit) priest Fr. Marko Rupnik is excommunicated in 2019 for sexually abusing religious sisters and then absolved them in confession. However, this same priest was permitted by the Holy See to create the logo for the 2022 World meeting of Families and given permission to preach in 2020 a Lenten meditation for priests in The Roman Curia, including Pope Francis.

Again, I do not know what Fr Pavone did to warrant laicization (and now he is added to the growing list of Canceled Priests) but what appears to many of us Catholics who love our church is selective “Mercy” from the Pope of Mercy.

I ask myself often, “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Lk. 18: 7-8)

Please pray for Fr. Pavone and all our dear priest who canceled for speaking truth.

Sr. Dede Byrne, POSC
